Smackdown Live started off with Shane McMahon making his way to the ring with the participants for the first ever women’s money in the Bank match already waiting. Shane Revealed the briefcase that the participants will be battling for which was a white with gold trim briefcase.
Each participant had the chance to speak on how they was going to win the MITB match. When Charlotte did her signature Woooooo, Nattie was fast to respond and replied no she can’t stand to hear one more Wooooo and if she’s done ripping off her father, Nattie then said to Charlotte its not about her and this is her moment and she’s not going to get any where near that contract because she’s the best there is the best there was that’s when Becky Lynch cut her off and said to Nattie that the only thing she’s best at is ripping off her uncle Bret and the only thing she rips off is arms. Naomi then hit the scene to make it known that she would be ready for whomever came out on top The champion and all her potential challengers were soon in for a shock when Lana made her long-awaited debut on Smackdown and wasted no time demanding a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Naomi and everyone else couldn’t help but laugh at Lana’s request since she hasn’t wrestled a single match and beat no one on Smackdown. Lana retorted right back, saying that she knew she could defeat Naomi. Shane did his best to settle tempers, but did not place Lana into the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Shane then announced that the Six Woman Tag Team Match would go down next.
The rival sides seemed to have some extra vigor behind them with the historic Money in the Bank Ladder Match looming, but a definitive result was taken off the table when Lana interrupted the proceedings again, this time engaging Naomi. Lana’s presence caught Naomi off-guard, which allowed Lana the opportunity to trip up Naomi, leading to Tamina connecting with a superkick on Naomi for the win for the welcoming committee.
